Sephora Return Policy Singapore (What’s Covered + More)

Sephora Return Policy Singapore

Do you know what the Sephora return policy in Singapore is? Well, you are at the perfect place to find the answer to such a question.

When it comes to shopping, either in person or online, knowing which stores have what return policy can be a nightmare.

Although you may think that all stores would offer a refund within a certain amount of days, this is simply not the case.

So, what about one of the most popular makeup stores, Sephora? In Singapore, Sephora’s refund policy is a 30-day refund or exchange policy.

What exactly is the return policy in Sephora in Singapore?

Because Sephora is a makeup store it makes their returns policy a little bit more complicated than other stores, such as clothing stores.

The reason behind this is hygiene, as the company cannot resell something that has been used, tested or even simply opened (just in case that it has been used or has started to expire).

So, although Sephora Singapore does actually offer a 30-day refund policy there are some specific conditions that you will have to meet if you actually want to get your money back on a product.

For example, when returning a product it must be in its original condition. This is to ensure that the product has not been used and can be resold by the company. For example, this means that the packaging must not have been opened (including any plastic seals), and the packaging must be in good condition.

If you purchased anything as part of a set or collection you cannot simply return one part of the set and get your money back. You must either return the entirety of the set or nothing at all. There is no in-between.

It is also worth noting that in some cases an item will be marked as non-refundable or non-exchangeable before purchase and these items are completely excluded from Sephora’s return policy.

You will not be able to return or exchange these items.

It is also worth keeping in mind that if you purchased your products online, or you do not want to return them in store, that you will have to pay the postage costs to return the items.

These will not be covered by Sephora. However, you can easily avoid this by returning your items to store.

What do I do if an item is faulty?

One exception to a lot of rules regarding returns and exchanges is if a product is faulty. In this case you will have to prove that the item was purchased faulty and that it was not a result of your own actions.

You can either take the item in a Sephora store in Singapore and inform the staff of the issue, in which case it is at their discretion whether to refund, exchange or refuse.

You can also get in touch with a member of the Sephora team online to explain your situation. However, remember to hold onto the faulty item as Sephora will need proof that the item was no usable and they may even ask you to return it to them.

How do I return an item?

If you have purchased anything from Sephora from a physical location then you will not be able to return the product via the mail.

You will need to return to a store and return the product in person. However, note that this does not need to be in the same store.

Please note that you will also not be able to return products that were purchased in another country to Sephora in Singapore.

When returning products to Sephora Singapore the product(s) must have been purchased in the country.

If you want to return an item that you bought online then you will need to get in touch with their customer service team and provide them with the following information:

  • Item name
  • Order number
  • Why do you want to return the item
  • Photo of the item

A member of their team will then advise you further.

Can I get a refund if I was allergic to the product?

One exception to Sephora’s return policy, which states that you cannot return an opened product, is if you had an allergic reaction to the item. In this case, you will be entitled to either a refund or store credit.

In the case that you have had an allergic reaction to a product, Sephora recommends getting in touch with a member of their team and providing them with a complete list of any symptoms that you had as a result of using a particular product.

If you are comfortable with doing so the team may also ask you to send them a picture of the affected area and possibly the product as well.

Conclusion

For a makeup store, Sephora Singapore has a very good returns policy. The idea is that as long as it is clear that something has not been used (and that it is still in good enough condition for the company to resell) then you are entitled to a refund as long as you return the product within 30 days.

One exception to this is allergic reactions, but you will need to provide proof of the reaction and state which product caused it.

Items that are marked as non-refundable or non-exchangeable are exempt from the policy.
