While the return policy looks great up front, there is some fine print you really should know about before ever sending anything back.

Who is Pandora?

Pandora is an extremely popular jewelry company, primarily known for its gorgeous bracelets and charms.

Pandora is a family-owned Danish jewelry manufacturer, introduced to the world in 1982 by founder Per Enevoldsen.

It didn’t take long for their exquisite hand-designed, unique, and affordable items to take off in popularity and become more work than one family could handle.

As of 2020, Pandora operates more than 7,000 stores, selling its products worldwide.

5 Reasons we Think Pandora’s Return Policy Sucks

There is a lot not to like about Pandora’s return policy. And in this article, we are going to list five of them that really irk us the most.

1.    Cannot Return Damaged or Defective Items to the store

If you ordered an item from Pandora and it came to you damaged or defective, you have to ship it back in order to receive a refund, repair, or replacement.

This can really be a bummer since many people want the item they bought that second. It doesn’t seem very fair that you can’t save time by returning a defective item to a store even if the damage wasn’t your fault.

When returning these items by mail, you have to wait about three business days for the company to receive them, then 7-10 business days for the refund to be processed.

2.    Shipping is Not Refundable

Now, if the item you want to return was originally bought online, you probably paid for shipping. Unfortunately, that shipping is not counted towards your refund, and you will not get that back.

If the item you purchased was damaged upon arrival, you would be compensated for the shipping cost.

However, this determination is up to the customer service representative you are communicating with.

3.    Not All Items Are Eligible For Returns

There are some products available through the Pandora website and physical locations that are not eligible for returns or exchanges.

This can get very frustrating depending on what you buy and how much you paid for it.

If you tried to save a little money and bought a clearance or final sale item and are not happy with how it looks, you are out of luck.

You can request a return if these products are damaged or defective when received, but you won’t get approved for a refund for any other reason.

4.    PayPal Purchases are Returned in the Form of Gift Cards

PayPal is a secure and easy way to make online payments. Many people rely on this 3rd party e-Wallet to pay for many of their online purchases, making transactions much quicker than having to enter in tons of information every time you shop online.

Unfortunately, if you choose this method of payment for any Pandora product, you are not entitled to your money being put back into the original account.

Instead, you are given a gift card with store credit. In turn, you can only use that money for other Pandora products.

5.    Return With No Receipt? You Might Lose Money

While you can return items to Pandora without a receipt, you may not be entitled to a complete refund. As long as you are within the 30-day window, you can return your jewelry, but without a receipt, there may be a problem.

In a lot of cases, you will be refunded for the product, but it will be for the price of the item at that particular time.

If you bought a bracelet at a full price one week, but it is on sale when you return it, you could end up only getting a refund in the amount of the sales price.

5 Reasons we Think Pandoras Return Policy is Great

Okay, the reasons listed above do suck quite a bit, actually. But, there are some good sides to the company’s return policy as well.

Pandora wants to ensure its customers are happy and will provide as much help as possible to do so. Here are four reasons we are actually pretty pleased with Pandor’s rules and regulations on returns.

1.    You Can Send it Back for Free

If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can ship it back to the company for a full return and for free.

As long as your initiate your return within the 30-day time frame, Pandora will provide you with a pre-paid return packaging slip.

All you have to do is place this return slip on the outgoing box and take it to a UPS location or UPS Authorized Shipping Outlet and you won’t have to pay a penny.

2.    Refunds Are Processed in a Good Amount of Time

There is nothing that irks us more than having to wait a long time to get our money back after returning an item to the store. Luckily, with Pandora, you won’t have to wait an excruciating amount of time.

Typically returns only take a few days to ship back to the store, and your refund will be applied to the original payment method within three business days.

If you are returning the item to the store, you will have your refund within minutes. And, as long as the product is in its brand new, original condition, you can walk out of the store with cash in hand or a simple exchange.

3.    The Process of Returning Products is Simple

Sending Products back to Pandora is pretty simple, and in a world full of difficulties and stress, simple transactions are more than welcome.

To return a product, you can literally walk into any store that very same day or contact a customer service agent by phone or live chat.

You can also submit a return request online.

4.    You Can Track Your Transaction

After packing up the items and shipping them back, it is crucial you have the ability to track everything. You never want to send something by mail without the option to keep an eye on it.

With Pandora returns, you can quickly and easily log onto the website and track your return with the tracking number provided.

This will show you exactly where the jewelry is going, where it currently is, and its final destination.

The tracking app will also let you know when the product makes its way back to the company. This is helpful because it gives you a good idea of when to expect your refund.

5.    Customer Service is Easy to Contact

It doesn’t matter what your preference is when it comes to communication, Pandora has some options that will allow you to reach out to a professional when you are looking to return a product.

You can go onto their website and chat with a customer service representative online, call their toll-free number, send them an email, or walk into any physical location and speak with a live person at any time.

Pandora Return Policy FAQs

Does Pandora Have a Lifetime Warranty?

All reputable companies that sell quality products typically offer customers some version of a lifetime warranty.

Pandora provides a 1-year, limited lifetime warranty on all of the items sold from their store.

This warranty covers you if any item you receive is damaged or defective during the manufacturing process.

What we Like About Pandora’s Lifetime Warranty

We can’t say we love these policies, but there are a few good things about the lifetime warranty offered by the Pandora company.

  • You have one year to claim your warranty.
  • It covers all products sold by Pandora.com and Pandora retailers
  • Pandora will repair, replace, or exchange any defective or damaged items caused by manufacturer error.
  • Your warranty is still valid for the remainder of the year or 90-days after the repair, whichever is longer.

What Sucks About Pandora’s Lifetime Warranty

There is defiantly nothing special about the warranty offered to Pandora customers. In fact, we find this limited lifetime warranty to be one of the least appealing compared to others in the jewelry business.

Here are a few examples of why we don’t care for the Pandora limited lifetime warranty policies.

  • Pandora has the right to refuse any item.
  • Pandora employees can extend, modify, or add to this warranty at their discretion.
  • Items repaired by another jeweler or the customer void the warranty.
  • The warranty does not cover the stretching of a chain or bracelet.

How Do you Initiate Returns with Pandora?

There are two ways to return products to Pandora if you decide the piece isn’t right for you. You can send it back by mail, or, you can take it to a store.

(Do not return damaged items to any physical location, contact customer service by phone or online.)

Returning Pandora Items by Mail

So, you ordered your jewelry online and decided you don’t want to keep it once it arrives. No problemo. You can simply log onto your personal account and scroll through your recent purchases.

Next, click on the item you wish to return and then select the reason you don’t want to keep it.

Once that is complete, Pandora will approve the return (if it follows the policies 100%) and provide you with a shipping label, free of charge.

Then, print the shipping label and place it on the outside of the package and take the package to your local UPS store.

Be sure to place all parts and pieces inside the box as well as your proof of purchase, return label, etc. Without the proper items, your return can be rejected.

Returning Pandora Items in Store

People will return products by mail due to convenience. However, others choose to return things to the store for a quicker transaction.

If you want to return your recent purchase to the physical Pandora stores, you can do this by returning the product in brand-new, unused condition and with your original receipt.

What if you don’t have your receipt? Pandora employees will take back items even if you can’t provide proof of purchase.

However, it is at the discretion of each customer service representative how you will get your refund back. It is common for the company to offer you store credit or an exchange.

What Do Their Customers Have to Say?

According to our research, it seems most customers have little trouble sending their purchases back to Pandora for a refund.

While they can get a little pushy with store credit, especially when you can’t provide a receipt, you won’t be left with an item you don’t like.

It also looks like Pandoras customer service representatives are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional for the most part.

You can quickly access help in whichever way works for you the best, and you are going to get a fair resolution the majority of the time.

Summing Things Up

While we can’t say that Pandora has the best return policy we have ever seen, they do offer a pretty basic and fair one.

If you aren’t totally happy with your recent purchase, chances are pretty good you can return it or exchange it quick, easy, and hassle-free.
