Hobby Lobby Return Policy on Sale Items (Your Complete Guide)

hobby lobby return policy on sale items

Finding a shelf of products on sale is a huge contributor to impulse purchases which can lead to buying a lot of different things that you may not have really wanted and even regret once you make it home.

This situation occurs a lot for people who shop at Hobby Lobby; the question is, what is Hobby Lobby’s return policy on sales items?

Sales items purchased at Hobby Lobby can be returned to the store within a 30-day period for a full refund, as long as it is still in brand new condition and you have the original receipt; after 30-days or without the receipt, you are only entitled to store credit.

Hobby Lobby is a retail giant that sells crafting supplies and home decor at a great price. The cost is even further lowered through coupons, codes, and sales. Luckily, returning any purchase, no matter how you bought it, is simple with this particular store.

Hobby Lobby Return Policy on Sale Items

If you picked up a product from one of Hobby Lobby’s physical locations and are not completely satisfied with the item, you can return it with no questions asked within 90-days, even if the product was on sale.

As long as you have the original receipt, Hobby Lobby will refund you the entire purchase price of the sale item, returning it to you in the same way it was purchased.

Within 90-days, you also have the choice of an exchange or store credit. If you paid with a check, you would have to wait at least 10-days to return your item, so the check has enough time to clear, then you will be issued a refund in cash.

Hobby Lobby Return Policy on Sales Items Without a Receipt

If you bought something from Hobby Lobby but don’t have a receipt to show proof of purchase, you still have options.

Without an original receipt, you have 60-days to return the product in sellable condition for an exchange or store credit.

Now, to keep people from abusing this option and getting a full price on a return that was on sale, the refund will only be for the amount of the lowest sales price within the last two months.

When you go to return an item without a receipt, it is crucial you bring a valid government-issued photo ID with you as it is required for any returns.

Returning Sale Items to Hobby Lobby Online

If you bought a sales item from HobbyLobby.com, you have two ways in which you can return it.

You can take it back to any physical Hobby Lobby location, or you can ship it back to them at:

Attention: Returns
7600 A SW 44th St
Oklahoma City, OK 73179

You must provide a receipt or invoice with your return in order to get your money back in the original payment method; without the receipt, you will be given a return in the form of an eGift card. If you bought your product with a gift card originally, you would be given a refund in the form of an eGift card.

It is important to note that customers are responsible for any and all costs associated with returns, and Hobby Lobby will not refund these costs unless the return is due to an error on their part.

Essentially, this means the best way to return your sales item is by taking it to your local store.

Returning a Sales Item That Was Broken or Defective

If you purchased a broken or defective product from Hobby Lobby, the company would issue you a refund in the same manner you originally paid for it f it was shipped to you this way.

In many cases, defective items that were not the result of Hobby Lobbys handling will require you to contact the manufacturer of the company and not their store.

If you ordered a product online or purchased something in a store that came to you defective or in non-working condition, contact customer service before sending it back.

How to Exchange a Sales Item at Hobby Lobby

Hobby Lobby doesn’t offer exchanges per-se; in order to exchange one product for another, you have to return the first item, then purchase the second item.

If that item is no longer on sale, Hobby Lobby will honor the sales price when you make the “exchange purchase” as long as you have the original sales receipt or invoice.

Hobby Lobby’s Right to Refuse Returns

Whether or not the item you are returning to the store is a sales item, Hobby Lobby has the right to refuse any returns as they see fit.

Typically, you will not have to worry about a return refusal unless you frequently return products or there is some suspicion regarding the validity of the sale, such as fraud or theft.

Items That Can Not be Returned to Hobby Lobby

There are not very many products that Hobby Lobby isn’t willing to take back. The only items that are 100% not accepted for returns are Silhouette®; Cricut® products and Sewing & Embroidery machines unless they are returned in the original packaging and have never been opened.

If the products have been opened or used in any way, the buyer must contact the company itself and refer to the warranty placed on the item.

Hobby Lobby does not accept manufacturer warranties, and any items that have one must be returned to them directly.

Other items that can not be returned are those that are damaged or clearly used and in unsellable condition upon return. This decision is based on employee discretion, and any item can be refused.
