Does Walmart Deliver TVs? (Cost, How Long + More)

does walmart deliver tvs

Do you know if Walmart delivers TVs? Well, you are at the perfect place to find the answer to such a question.

Walmart has a great selection of electronics in stores and online. If you’ve been browsing their TV selection lately you may be wondering if it is possible to get your TV delivered to your home for you.

Walmart offers delivery on all items purchased online, which includes TV purchases. However, they will likely not deliver an item you purchased in the store. If you need your TV delivered, you would be better off shopping online.

This article will discuss how Walmart delivery works, the delivery options available, and add-on delivery services offered by Walmart

Will Walmart Deliver My TV Purchased In Store?

Walmart doesn’t offer delivery for items purchased in the store. So, if you’re needing your TV delivered you should purchase it online or from the Walmart app. The great news about purchasing online is that there are many more options available.

There are also often great deals offered online that aren’t always offered in store.

Since Walmart does have online delivery available, it makes sense that they don’t also offer delivery for items purchased in the store.

If a customer requests the delivery of a TV purchased in store, they could simply direct them to their online shop and have them purchase it there.

How Does Walmart Delivery Work For An Online Order?

Walmart doesn’t have their own in-house delivery service for online orders. They use third-party delivery companies like FedEx and UPS.

When checking out you will choose your shipping option, and Walmart will provide you with an estimated timeframe for your delivery.

Generally, it takes between 3-5 days for the delivery of larger items. However, certain items are eligible for two-day shipping from Walmart.

These items will show the two-day delivery option in your cart. The only caveat is that you must place your order before 2 p.m. in order to qualify for the two-day shipping.

Does Walmart Offer Other Delivery Options?

In addition to standard and two-day delivery, some areas are eligible for next day delivery. In order to find out if your area is eligible, you have to put your zip code online.

But, even if your area is eligible, you also have to be sure that the items in your cart qualify. Some items will not qualify for next day shipping, including freight and marketplace items.

Although TVs are likely not considered freight items, they still may not qualify.

Walmart also offers express delivery for certain items. Express delivery guarantees your order within two hours. Express delivery can only be ordered through their app and is not available online.

How Much Does Walmart Delivery Cost?

Walmart offers free delivery for all orders $35 or more. If your order is lower than $35, there is a flat rate of $5.99 for shipping.

Considering most TVs cost more than $35 it is likely your purchase will qualify for free shipping.

The exception to this is the extra cost for two-day shipping and express shipping, if your item qualifies for these options.

Customers who are a member of Walmart+ qualify for free standard shipping on all of their orders. So even if their TV cost less than $35, they could still get it delivered for free.

What Other Delivery Services Does Walmart Offer?

In addition to getting your TV delivered, Walmart also offers certain installation add-ons. For instance, you can have your TV set up for you or attach your TV mount to the wall and mount the TV.

These services can be purchased online or in store and do come with an additional cost. The exact cost is calculated at checkout. Their TV Mounting service is listed online for $79.

Walmart will not remove your old TV or provide any sort of “haul away” service either. They may decide to offer this in the future, but there hasn’t been any recent announcements about this yet. The service provider also may not remove the packing your TV came in, you will likely be responsible for disposing of the packing yourself.

These additional services are available in most areas of the U.S., if a service provider isn’t available in your area after you make your purchase your service request will be canceled, and you won’t be charged.

The service providers are not actually employed by Walmart; however, they are vetted by the company to ensure that they have the necessary credentials.

How Do I Prepare For My Walmart Delivery Or Service?

Once you’ve made your appointment there are only a few steps you need to take to get ready for your delivery appointment.

You should make sure that the delivery agent has a clear pathway to the area you want your TV. This means moving furniture and other items out of the walkway from the door to the TV area.

It is also important to make sure that any pets are in another room with a closed door to make sure they don’t get in the way of the delivery.
