Sam’s Club allows you to return electronics if you change your mind, are unhappy with the product, or the product was defective or damaged. You cannot return electronics that were damaged due to your own error or mistakes.

In other words, you can return the electronics for any reason, as long as the product is in the same condition as when you purchased it.

Return Window

The biggest difference between Sam’s Club’s regular return policy and its electronics return policy is its return window.

You have 90 days to return electronics to Sam’s Club. This 90 day window begins at the time of purchase. You can calculate the return due date by looking at the date of purchase on the receipt.

Required Items

To be issued a full refund, there are a few things you will need.

Most importantly, make sure that you pack up the electronics in its original packaging and include all of the accessories that came in the box.

If you do not include all of the accessories and packaging, you may not be issued a full refund.

What about a receipt? Sam’s Club recommends and prefers that you bring the original receipt. This will make the return process easy and hassle-free.

Sam’s Club understands that accidents happen. If you have lost your receipt, you can bring your return to the store, and an associate will do everything they can to issue a return.

Although Sam’s Club cannot guarantee a return without the receipt, they will try to issue the return anyways.

Can I mail in returns for an item that I bought in a club?

No. You can only mail back electronics that were purchased online. If you purchased the electronics at a store, you will need to return them to the store.

Are shipping and delivery charges refunded?

If the product was damaged upon arrival, Sam’s Club will refund the shipping and delivery charges. If you simply change your mind and the product works exactly as promised, the shipping and delivery charges will not be refunded.

Can I return the electronics if I lost the receipt?

It depends. Sam’s Club prefers that you have the original receipt to make their return easy and hassle-free. However, Sam’s Club will do everything in its power to issue a refund and return, even if you lost the receipt.

Can I return opened electronics?

Yes. You can return opened electronics. Just make sure to return all of the original packaging, accessories, and anything else that came with the purchase to be issued the full refund.

Refund Process

Sam’s Club refunds the product with the same method you used. The money will be deposited back to your credit card or debit card if that’s what you used to purchase the item.

If you used cash, you will get cash back. If you used a gift card to purchase the electronics, you’ll be issued store credit in the form of a new gift card.

If you ordered an item online, you will only be refunded the cost of the actual item. Sam’s Club does not refund shipping charges and fees. There is one exception to this rule. If the product arrived damaged, Sam’s Club will issue a refund on the shipping fees as well.

How Long Do Refunds Take?

How long the refund takes depends on how the refund is issued. Cash refunds are automatic. You will leave the store with cash in hand.

Refunds to your debit card or credit card are not automatic. Instead, refunds returned in credit may take 5 to 7 business days to process. If you have not received your refund in 10 business days, contact Sam’s Club for help.

If you are returning a product through the mail, the refund will take even longer. Sam’s Club first has to receive the product and inspect it in order to approve the refund. Only after the product has been approved will the refund be issued. At this point, it will then take 5 to 7 business days for the refund to hit.

Can Non-Members Return Sam’s Club Products?

If you are a non-member and received a product purchased at Sam’s Club as a gift, you cannot return the product on your own. Instead, the purchasing member must be present as well if you wish to return the product.

Likewise, you cannot return a Sam’s Club product if you had an active membership at the time of purchase, but the membership is no longer active.

You must be an active member at the time of purchase and return if you wish to return an electronic product.

How to Return Sam’s Club Electronics

Sam’s Club offers three easy ways that you can return electronics.

Return at Store

The easiest way to return any product is to bring it to your local Sam’s Club store. All you need to do is bring the product and the original receipt to your local Sam’s Club location.

Stop by the member service desk. An associate will help issue your refund in the form of cash or credit. You can return any products to the store, including products purchased online.

Ship It Back

If you purchased your item online, you also have the option to ship it back. This return method does not apply to products that were purchased in store.

To begin returning a product that you purchased online, you have to go to your account and issue the return in the order details section.

You’ll be walked through the process of what you need to do to ship back your product. Make sure to ship back everything that came with the original product, including accessories and packing slips.

Because items purchased online are always bought with a credit card or a debit card, your refund will be issued in the form of credit.
