Do you know if IKEA sells air mattresses? Well, you are at the perfect place to find the answer to such a question.
IKEA has a wide variety of different mattress options available in stores and online. They sell foam and spring mattresses in king, queen, full, and twin-sized options. They even have crib mattresses and children’s mattresses! But, if you’re looking for a more temporary solution, you’re likely here to find out if IKEA sells air mattresses.
IKEA, unfortunately, doesn’t sell air mattresses. The only option they have that is similar is their folding mattress. However, this is still just a foam mattress, not an air mattress.
In this article, we will discuss IKEA’s folding mattress and their other mattress options available.
Table of Contents
What Is IKEA’s Foldable Mattress?
The closest item IKEA has to an air mattress is their SLÄKT folding mattress. This is a foam mattress made from polyurethane foam. It is categorized as a kids mattress and doesn’t provide much support.
Although reviews do state it is good for camping or a sleepover for kids, it is not a good choice for more than a few nights, and definitely doesn’t have the support an adult would be looking for.
It is priced at $129.99, which is a little bit expensive, but depending on your needs this may be a great solution. Although it doesn’t deflate and roll up like an air mattress, it does fold neatly into a 14” high, 18 7/8″ wide cube. When layed out, it has unique measurements of being 76” long, 24 3/8″ wide, and 3 1/2″ thick.

What Other Types Of Mattresses Does IKEA Sell?
While you won’t find the air mattress you’re looking for at IKEA, if you’re simply in the search for a low-priced, temporary-use bed, you can still find what you need. The only caveat would be that you need a space in your home where it can be stored permanently.
IKEA carries many bed varieties that would be great for a guest room as an upgrade to an air mattress.
They have options of both foam and spring mattresses that are fairly compact, cheap, and would make a great guest bed without a huge investment.

What Is The Cheapest Foam Mattress Available At IKEA?
The cheapest foam mattress at IKEA is their twin-size MINNESUND mattress. It is priced at $75 and a pretty small mattress marketed toward children’s beds and day beds. It is 74 3/8″ long, 38 1/4″ wide, and only 3 7/8″ thick! If you’re looking for a thin and cheap mattress this is a great option, although it won’t provide too much support.
It is a foam mattress but not memory foam, the inside is filled with polyurethane foam, similar to the SLÄKT mattress. This is wider and slightly thicker than the SLÄKT and doesn’t fold up for storage, but it is still a great option.
A daybed is a great option for a sleeping option that can also be used as a sitting area but will take a little more monetary investment than simply buying an air mattress.
While the MINNESUND mattress alone is cheaper than the SLÄKT folding mattress, you’ll still have to buy the day bed to go with it.
You can also get the MINNESUND in queen and full for higher price points of $149 and $129 respectively. They are the cheapest varieties of foam mattresses that IKEA sells for those sizes.
What Is The Cheapest Spring Mattress Available At IKEA?
The cheapest spring mattress at IKEA is the HASVÅG twin mattress. Followed by the HASVÅG full and queen. These are medium firm mattresses constructed from bonnell springs and a layer of soft filling material.
The twin HASVÅG is priced at $129. The same price as the SLÄKT folding bed and provides significantly more comfort. The full and queen come in at $179 and $199 respectively.
This bed is a little larger than the ones we covered already and will likely need a stand-alone bed stand, unless you want to go the mattress-on-the-floor route!
The twin is the standard 74 3/8″ long, 38 1/4″ wide, but it has a thickness of 8 1/4.” This is a significant difference from the beds we’ve covered so far and is due to the rings within the mattress.
Does IKEA Sell Any Other Temporary Beds?
Some other options from IKEA if a guest bed or daybed isn’t quite cutting it as a replacement for an air mattress would be their sleeper sofas and futons. They carry a few different options of sofa beds and chair beds.
While this isn’t an exact replacement for an air mattress, it does serve the same function. A bed that can be stored away easily and used temporarily.
The great thing about IKEA sofa beds and chair beds is that they can fit seamlessly into the design of your living room, sitting room, or office, and provide comparable comfort to an air mattress.
These are priced a little higher than you would find for an air mattress, but since it serves a dual purpose, the price is fairly reasonable!

Conclusion
While IKEA doesn’t have a selection of air mattresses to choose from, they do have other options for temporary or low-cost sleeping solutions.
From their folding mattress to sleeper sofas, there are alternatives to air mattresses here.
If you’re looking for something portable, their folding mattress is the way to go.
But, if you’re just looking for a cheap sleeping solution for guests, some of their smaller mattresses for sleeper sofas might be the way to go.
