The reputable company that manufactures the Kirkland lactose-free milk is the Aurora Organic Dairy Corp.

The recall stated that the milk was not dangerous to consume, but anyone who was not satisfied with their purchase could return it to their local Costco for a full refund.
This recall did not cause any illnesses or other complications with those who consumed it, and it only affected a single location.

Is Kirkland Lactose-Free Milk Good
Kirkland lactose-free milk has no added sweeteners or other flavors. This milk tastes like many other milk brands and isn’t anything special nor is there anything wrong with it.
Unfortunately, there are many reviews from Lactaid sensitive customers that indicate the milk may not truly be 100% Lactaid free.
These customers suggest there is still a slight among of lactose in this product because they experience stomach issues after drinking them.
How Much Does Kirkland Lactose-Free Milk Cost?
When shopping at Costco, you will pay around $10 for three ½ gallon cartons of Kirkland’s lactose-free milk.
A little more than three bucks for a ½ galloon of lactose-free milk isn’t a bad deal at all.
This is actually one of the better prices we have found for lactose-free milk, even those created by the same manufacturer, in the same building, using the same cows.
This is how the store brand products typically work.
With brand-name, you are paying more for the label than the product. (not all of the time, but a lot of the time.)
Pros and Cons of Lactose-Free Milk
While we all know that lactose-free milk is good for those who have trouble digesting regular milk, it is also full of calcium, protein, vitamins, and minerals, just like cow’s milk.
However, there are some downsides to this milk as well.
Some lactose milk manufacturers may add artificial sugars to their products to give them a more appealing flavor. (This is not something Kirkland does).
Is Lactose-free The Same as Dairy-Free?
Not at all. Lactose-free milk is still a form of cow’s milk, meaning it still contains dairy. The difference is the lactose is removed.
Anyone who is dairy sensitive, shouldn’t drink lactose-free milk. Instead, those people may want to try almond milk or something similar.
Summing Things Up
Kirkland may not produce their own lactose-free milk, however, they are the owner of the brand and exclusively sold through the Costco stores.
This milk is a quality product that is safe for consumption, at a very affordable price, and tastes just as good as the alternatives.
