If you’re a Best Buy Elite Member, you can return products up to 30 days out. 

Best Buy Elite Plus membership will give you an extra fifteen days, for a grand total of 45 days after purchasing an item, to return the product for a full refund.

2. IKEA

IKEA is one of those home furnishing stores where you’ll discover that the futon couch you just ordered is going to take a lot more time and frustration to put together than you thought.

Fortunately, you have more than one option, such as sending it back for a full refund.

Any item returned within 365 days will net you a full refund—definitely by credit card if you prefer—thanks to IKEA’s “No-Nonsense Returns” policy.

If you go so far as to open the product, you’ll have 180 days to return it and get back your whole purchase price.

However, Costco will honor just about anything you bring back, even if it’s a year or so old at that point.

Bed Bath and Beyond is probably the only major retail chain that will literally refund you for a half-used item, so long as it’s no more than half-used.

That’s right, half-used. IF you don’t like that new lotion but still manage to use it 20 times, you can return it for a full refund.

So long as your 20 uses didn’t reduce it below that halfway threshold. There are certainly stranger things in this world, however, not many and not by much.

Bed Bath and Beyond will issue a full refund in the form of store credit, an even exchange, or on your credit card.

If you have the receipt, it’s a closed-case scenario in which you will get a full refund to your credit card.

If you don’t have your receipt, however, it will come in the form of in-store credit or exchange for equal value. 

5. Apple 

Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t offer a refund outside of 14-days, unless there’s a manufacturer’s defect—which falls into warranty territory.

However, it doesn’t matter where you buy your Apple device.

Whether it’s from Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Best Buy, Online, Amazon, or anywhere else in the world, you can return it within that 14-day window, no questions asked, and get the full price of the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, HomePod, or any Apple device refunded directly to your credit card. 

If you’re well outside of the 14-day window but you run into a defect that wasn’t caused by you, the same standard applies if you don’t want a direct replacement for the defective product. 

Apple is known for its stinginess when it comes to forcing users to stick with Apple products.

Once you’re on the Apple bandwagon, you’re on it for the long haul. But that doesn’t mean they’re stingy if you decide you just aren’t feeling it inside of fourteen days.

Even better, American Eagle has a very liberal return policy. So long as you have the receipt, they’ll take it back and refund you the full price, via credit card—or any other method you prefer—even if it’s used apparel.

The only exception to used apparel is in the swimsuit department. You can’t bring back bikinis where the liner has been removed.

7. Athleta

Athleta is a popular retail outlet that focuses primarily on athletic wear for women. As a division of GAP, they’re extremely popular.

They also have a fantastic return policy that they call the “Give-It-A-Workout-Guarantee.”

Despite the fact that their parent company has no such policy, Athleta decided they would prefer to expand their customer service in such a way as to make the customer more of a primary focus. 

So even if you’ve worn it, you can bring it back for a full refund on your credit card, so long as you have the receipt.

8. The Home Depot

The Home Depot has an absolutely ludicrous return policy. So ludicrous that it’s insanely beneficial to their customers.

Any plant purchased at Home Depot can be returned in less than a year if it dies. It will be fully refunded or replaced for an equal value plant.

So basically, you can purchase a plant at Home Depot, take it home, water it for a few months and then forget about it.

After another six months of collecting dust and dying in a corner, you can take it back to Home Depot for a full refund. 

Home Depot also honors returns on all of its other products for 90 days and so long as you have a receipt, you can get the full refund on your credit card. 

9. Patagonia 

Patagonia is a retail outfit geared towards apparel for those who love to spend their days in the great outdoors.

From hiking, mountain biking, and trail running, to surfing and fly fishing, Patagonia has some of the best clothing choices for whatever floats your boat.

Their refund policy is also exceptional.

Patagonia doesn’t require a time limit either. You can return an item 7 months later and have it refunded to your credit card, repaired, or replaced altogether.

That’s right, not only will Patagonia refund your purchase to your credit card, they’ll also do a full repair of your clothing, apparel, or accessories. 

10. Bloomingdale’s

Bloomingdale’s is another retail chain that specializes in clothing and accessories. They also take it to the next level with cookware and other tools for the house.

If you like to shop for purses and pumps while you pick out a nice cutting board, Bloomingdale’s is for you.

They also have their own, excellent and very open return policy. Bloomingdale’s will issue a full refund on your credit card or through another method for any items returned within a one-year window.

That includes used items, so long as it is in “saleable” condition.

Without a receipt, you can still get a refund in the form of in-store credit or an exchange of equal value.

Even a mattress can be returned within 365 days for a full refund.

Best of all, they have an unlimited amount of time on returns for a full refund. There are a few exceptions on specific products, however, even those can be returned between 14 and 90 days to get your money back. 

Office Depot will fully refund your prior purchase on your credit card.

No technology products are eligible for a refund without a receipt, so you won’t be able to take advantage of in-store exchanges or store credit without proof of purchase. 

12. Walmart

Walmart is probably one of the better-known major retail chains that will refund just about anything and they’ll refund it in just about any way, including credit cards.

Cell phones, laptops, smart TVs and other, major electronic devices are subject to a 14-day return policy. 

Fortunately, the 14-day policy doesn’t apply too much else throughout the store and you can return anything within a 90-day period.

The 90-day period is really just something that someone wrote down on a piece of paper once because Walmart isn’t usually strict about it.
