According to an article published by Reuters news agency in mid-March 2022, Target has plans to begin accepting payment online using EBT in late April.

Can I use my EBT card in Target stores?

Yes! You can go to any Target and easily use your EBT card as a payment method.

How do I use my EBT card at Target?

This process is just like using your EBT card at any other retailer. Keep in mind that unlike some stores such as Whole Foods, Target will not automatically separate the EBT-eligible and non-eligible items for you, so you should do this ahead of time before placing your items on the belt.

Once all of your EBT eligible items have been scanned, you will be able to use your EBT card just like any other debit or credit card.

You will swipe it at the pin pad and enter your four-digit pin code to complete the transaction.

Once again, keep in mind that if you have not properly separated all of your items, and if a non-eligible item gets scanned, then the transaction will fail.

This is why it is important to make sure you separate all of your items.
