Currys is a popular home electronics and appliance retailer located in the U.K. and Ireland. From its beginning as a bicycle retailer in 1927, Currys has evolved and rebranded over the years into a large retail presence today, with 295 megastores and 73 high street shops.

Currys sells home entertainment systems, large and small appliances, computers, mobile phones and more. 

So, what is Currys replacement policy? Currys offers a 30 day replacement or refund program for faulty items. If you need a replacement for a faulty item after 30 days, most products will also have a 12-month warranty covering repairs. If it’s been longer than one year and you have an issue with your product, there are options for repairing your item, either by paying out of pocket or using Currys’ Care & Repair Plan.

Currys exchange and return policy  

It depends on the reason why you want a replacement of an item bought at Currys. If the item is faulty, incorrect or damaged, you have a few options for either replacement, refund or repair depending on the time frame.

If you’ve simply changed your mind about a product, Currys offers returns and refunds within 14-21 days, depending on if you made your purchase online or in-store. 

Here we’ll cover if you want to replace something bought from Currys. Currys’ replacement policy varies slightly depending on if you’ve purchased a small item or a large item from their store or website. 

To replace a small item at Currys:

Currys will offer exchanges or refunds on small items if they are found to be faulty, incorrect, or damaged.

Currys considers small items to be audio devices, cameras, computers, game consoles, small appliances, and televisions smaller than 43 inches. 

Replacing a small item within 30 days after purchase:

If the small item is faulty, you have 30 days after purchase or delivery to bring it in for replacement or refund. All you need is your full name and address, proof-of-purchase, all of the original packaging (it can be opened), and all of the accessories it came with.

Replacing a small item after the first 30 days of purchase:

After 30 days, most items will still be covered under a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty and can be repaired free of charge if faulty or damaged.

This warranty does not cover items that have been damaged in an accident, neglected, misused, or normal wear and tear. 

The quickest way to get your small item replaced or refunded is to bring it into the store. However if you can’t bring it in, you can contact a customer service representative through their Webchat service and initiate a pick-up at your convenience.

To replace a large item at Currys:

Currys will offer exchanges or refunds on large items if they are found to be faulty, incorrect, or damaged. If over a year has passed, Currys offers a Care & Repair Plan that can cover repairs.

Currys considers large items to be appliances such as dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, fridges, freezers, ovens, and televisions larger than 43 inches. 

Replacing a large item within 30 days after purchase:

 If a large item is faulty, you have 30 days after purchase or delivery to arrange for exchange or refund.

To start the refund or replacement process, you’ll first need to contact the manufacturer for a reference number.

Replacing a large item between 30 days and one year of purchase:

After 30 days, most items will still be covered under a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty and can be repaired free of charge if faulty or damaged.

Remember, this warranty will not cover items that have been damaged in an accident, neglected, misused, or normal wear and tear. 

Replacing a large item after one year has passed:

If you have the Currys’ Care & Repair Service Plan, simply call 0344 561 1234 for assistance with your product. With the Care and Repair plan, If Currys can’t repair your product after the second attempt, they will offer you a free replacement.

If you do not have a Care & Repair Plan, Currys offers a repair service that covers laundry, dishwashers, ovens, fridges, freezers, TVs, computers and mobile phones.

General pricing and assistance for repairs are listed on their website. Repairs are guaranteed for 12 months after the repair date and can be completed in-home. 

Can I return or replace a mobile phone?

Yes, the same return and exchange policy mentioned above for small products also applies to mobile phones. To replace a mobile phone bought at Currys, they recommend you follow a few simple steps first:

  • Remove any personal data
  • If you have an iPhone, deactivate “Find My Phone”
  • If you have an Android, deactivate “Google Smart Lock”
  • Keep your SIM card, you can use it in another phone
  • Once those steps are complete, all you need to do is bring in your phone to your nearest Currys, along with your full name and address, proof-of-purchase, all of the original packaging and materials, and all of the accessories (including any free gifts that came with the purchase).
