Kroger’s Money Services allow customers to cash a variety of checks at their secure facilities, which are open after hours and on weekends. Krogers accepts the following types of checks:

  • Business checks
  • Debit card cashing.

Krogers does not cash thrid party checks and personal checks at their facilities. The check-cashing fee is nominal and generally follows a fee structure of:

  • $4 for transactions under 2000 dollars with a Krogers Shoppers card and $4.50 without a Shoppers Card 
  • $7. For transactions over 2000 dollars with a Shoppers Card and $7.50 without a card.

Travelcenters Of America 

TA, Petro, and TA Express offer check cashing facilities for billing companies’ checks, and NATSO approved accounts.

Their cash limits are $999 per 24 hour period, and they charge a service fee in all states except New Jersey. However, they will waive this fee up to $300 if you:

  • Purchase 60 gallons of gas and above
  • You purchase convenience for merchandise for $50 or above.
  • You pay for truck maintenance and repair for $250 and above.
  • If you join the Travelcenter’s UltraONE Platinum club, you can receive free check cashing and cash advances for up to $300.

What do You Need t cash a Check at TravelCenters of America?

TravelCenters require that you produce a valid driver’s license for processing and verification purposes. They will also perform a check verification before cashing your check using NATSO.

NATSO check link is a check verification program available to NATSO truckstop members, divers, and motorcoach operators. 

Meijer

Meijer gas stations offer facilities for cash checks using the Electronic Check Acceptance Warranty System from First Data’s Telecheck Services.

Meijers offers over 195 convenience stores with gas stations for cash checking services.  

Guests may cash payroll checks up to $1,000, and government checks up to $1,999.99. Check to cash service charges vary but are typically between $3.00 and $5.00.

Meijers cash a variety of checks, with restrictions on:

  • You may only use personal checks for purchases, up to $25 over the purchase amount or $5 over the gas purchase amount. 
  • Business checks follow the same process as above, but one must provide the organization’s 501(c) number for tax exemption purposes.
  • Traveler’s checks may not be over $100 in US dollars only and must be used for purchase. The checks must be counter-signed at the check lane, and the cashier must witness the transaction, and no previously counter-signed checks will be accepted.

Checks not accepted at Meijers include:

  • Money Orders
  • Post-dated Checks
  • Hand-written Payroll Checks
  • Bank/Cashier’s Checks
  • Third-party Checks
  • Starter Checks.

What Do You Need to Cash a Check at Meijers

If you wish to use Meijer’s check cashing facilities, you will need to register for the Certegy verification, which takes a week on average to process.

Once registered, you may cash your payroll or government checks at any of the Meijers locations.

You will need a valid photo ID, including military or state-issued IDs.

Pilot/Flying J Travel Centers

Pilot/Flying J fuel centers off the convenience of cash checking services 24 hours a day. Pilot/Flying J allows customers to cash checks for up to $999.99 with a nominal fee that varies from location to location.

Pilot/Flying J also offers to waive your check cashing fees if your purchase 25 gallons or more of fuel, allowing up to $200 off your encashing fees. 

What Do I Need to Cash A Check at Pilot/Flying J?

You will need to provide valid identification, and you will need to pass the check verification process. Managers have the right to refuse checks that do not meet their check cashing policy standards. 

Dillons

Dillons forms part of the Kroger family, and you may find their stores in Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri.

You will find a Money Service at many of the Dillon fuel centers that will allow you to cash a variety of checks, including:

  • Insurance Checks
  • Payroll Checks
  • Western Union Money Orders
  • Government Checks.

What Do I Need to Cash a Check at Dillon’s?

You will need to provide verified identification, including:

  • Driver’s License
  • State-issued ID

Dillons uses Certegy to validate checks which is a third-party risk assessment company.

You Customers should be aware that Dillons does not accept personal checks in their Money services facilities. 

Safeway 

Safeway offers its services in 18 states, and they have almost 900 outlets. Many of their branches provide both a fuel center and facilities to cash your checks while filling up on fuel.

Cashing fees may vary from location to location, but Safeway charges an average of $2,25 for every $200 that you wish to cash. Most Safeway centers and have a $1,000 to $1,500 check cashing limit depending on the location. 

Safeway offers convenient check cashing services at a number of its fuel centers.

They generally accept government-issued and payroll checks but will not cash out third party, starter checks, and personal checks at their facilities. 

What Do I Need to cash my Check at Safeway Fuel Centers?

You will need to provide the physical check you need to endorse before Safeway may cash the check.

You may endorse the check by signing your name on the back of the check, ensuring that it is the same payee referenced in the font.

You will also need a valid ID such as a driver’s license, State ID, or passport.
